Simon is a founding partner of Lex Futura and advises companies - particularly in the technology sector - in all legal matters. He combines his experience gained at leading law firms and inhouse position to create added value for every project. Pragmatic, team-oriented, hands-on, but still deploying utmost precision, this is how Simon works in practice.
Prior to founding Lex Futura, Simon was a Senior Associate in the IT/Communications Group at the global law firm Baker McKenzie. In this function, he advised global and domestic clients mainly on large software transactions, data protection programs and telecommunications law.
As Legal Counsel of Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia), Simon was responsible for all legal matters of the company in Switzerland. He successfully negotiated complex contracts in the telecommunications sector, such as fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) projects and mission-critical networks in the energy sector. Simon is particularly proud of his work on behalf of Alcatel-Lucent in the Gotthard Base Tunnel, the longest railway tunnel in the world and one of the largest infrastructure projects ever completed in Switzerland.
In parallel, Simon served as litigation coordinator for the EMEA region, where he managed IT disputes (litigation and arbitration) from an in-house perspective.
Simon began his legal career as a Junior Associate with the leading Swiss law firm Homburger. He holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Swiss Law from the University of Zurich and a Diploma in the Common Law from the University of London. He is admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich and authorized to represent parties before all Swiss courts.
In his free time, Simon enjoys nature, both underwater while diving and in the mountains while hiking.
